  • If you are a Canadian, US, or Mexican delegate and are applying for the available financial support (see additional information on this page), please indicate that when submitting your abstract. In all cases, provide a brief estimate of your needs/budget and describe any funding you will receive from your department, research group, or others to supplement the support you are applying for.

Interested in participating but not presenting? Register and attend!

  • We welcome any graduate student who wants to participate
  • There is no requirement to present a paper, only an interest in meeting your colleagues, hearing from physicists representing Canada, the US, Mexico and Cuba, and sharing your thoughts on issues of common interest to all participants

  • Conference will be held at Laurentian University, 935 Ramsey Lake Rd, Sudbury, ON P3E 2C6
  • The campus is surrounded by more than 300 lakes and is known for the aesthetic landscape and outdoor opportunities

Registration

    • $150 CAD
    • SNOLAB tours available at no extra charge (space is limited and will be first-come, first-served).
    • Registration instructions will be issued with the abstract acceptance notice.
    • Attendance is open to graduate students who are not presenting a paper

Support for Canadian
Graduate Student Travel

  • The CAP Foundation is proudly offering funding support of up to $500 to help offset a portion of the travel costs for up to 20 Canadian CAP member graduate students who have an accepted abstract at CAM 2019.  The support will be allocated to approved recipients as follows:
    • $325 support to offset residence accommodation costs;
    • up to $175 additional support for delegates who are paying airfare to attend.
  • A letter of support from your supervisor or other sponsor confirming that your other expenses will be covered must be submitted with the application for travel support.
  • Make sure you’re a CAP member to qualify for travel funds.

Support for U.S. Student Travel

  • The American Physical Society will provide some travel support to U.S. graduate students based on need.
  • All students enrolled in U.S. institutions are eligible to apply for this support.
  • Please indicate if you are applying for this financial assistance when submitting your abstract. Provide a brief estimate of your needs/budget and describe any funding you will receive from your department or research group to supplement the APS support.
